Is Your Well Not Doing Well?

If you have a well at your home, chances are you don’t give it much thought or consideration throughout the day, month or even years. When all is well with your well, it’s easy to not think about it. However, when things seem to be wrong with your water, your well is all you can think about.

One reason for the considerable amount of worry that a faulty well can cause, is due to the fact that it is so far out of reach. The fear of the unknown can be a little unnerving. However, there are common signs to look for if you think something is wrong with your well.

Low Pressure

If you notice your water pressure is not as forceful as usual, this could be a sign that your well pump is going bad. Your pump should be working at full capacity if sufficient water is being pumped through it. Your pressure tank may also be the cause of your low pressure. It could have a leak in the tank or pipes.

Constant Running

If your pump is running constantly it could indicate that you may have a problem and it may stop functioning soon. It could also mean there is a faulty shutoff switch or sensor.

Water Shutoff

If you have no water, it can trigger a sudden fear that your entire system is shot. However, this may be a result of a simple blown fuse, clogged line or broken pipe.
